A Story of Love, Skill, and Courage in Old China

Long ago, during China's Tang Dynasty, lived a bright young woman named Ji Ying Ying. Her family owned the Huanhua Dyeing Workshop in the town of Yizhou, known for making beautiful colored fabrics.

Growing up, Ying Ying was very close friends with Zhao Xiu Yuan. His family was rich and famous for making fancy silk cloth called brocade. They were like childhood sweethearts, sharing many happy memories.

But life doesn't always go as planned. Zhao Xiu Yuan's family wanted him to marry someone else to gain more power and influence. They pushed him until he agreed to marry Niu Wu Niang, whose father was an important government official from the Niu family. This decision meant Zhao Xiu Yuan couldn't be with Ying Ying, leaving her feeling sad and alone.

Around this time, Ying Ying met someone new: Yang Jing Lan. He was the third son of a very powerful family, the Jin Wang Yang family (like a prince's family). From the very first moment he saw Ying Ying, Yang Jing Lan was charmed by her.

However, Ying Ying didn't like Yang Jing Lan at first. Maybe she found him too bold or maybe she was still thinking about Zhao Xiu Yuan. But they kept running into each other. They often teased and argued, like playful rivals. Slowly, though, their bickering turned into friendship, and then into deeper feelings. They started to care for each other more and more.

Just as things seemed to be looking up, trouble arrived. A prince from the nearby Nanzhao Kingdom, known as the White King, came to Yizhou for a visit. This prince wasn't just visiting; he had a hidden plan. He was very impressed by the amazing dyeing skills of Ying Ying's family and desperately wanted their secret methods for creating such beautiful colors. He schemed and tried tricky ways to steal the Ji family's special dyeing recipes.

The situation became difficult for the Ji family, possibly because of the White King's plotting or the broken ties with the Zhao family. Thankfully, Yang Jing Lan's family stepped in. They formally visited the Ji family to ask for Ying Ying's hand in marriage for Yang Jing Lan. This important proposal offered the Ji family protection and helped them through this tricky period.

The White King was furious that his plans to steal the dyeing secrets had failed. He decided to take what he wanted by force. He gathered his soldiers and launched a surprise attack on the peaceful city of Yizhou! During the fighting and confusion, the White King's men captured Ji Ying Ying and took her away.

Yang Jing Lan couldn't let this happen. He loved Ying Ying and his home. Showing great courage, he gathered soldiers and led the fight to protect Yizhou. They battled hard against the White King's army.

After a tough fight, Yang Jing Lan and his brave soldiers managed to drive the enemy away and save the city. Most importantly, Yang Jing Lan rescued Ji Ying Ying from the White King.

Finally, the danger passed. Ji Ying Ying was safe, and she and Yang Jing Lan were happily reunited. They had faced danger together and proven their feelings, ready to start a new life.
